Job Description
We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated Business Systems Analyst to join our team. An ideal candidate will have experience/aptitude for leading and organizing projects. The position works with executives and teams across the company, and requires, but is not limited to, the following:
- Developing business specifications and related business rules based on business decision.
- Reading, analyzing and interpreting business specifications.
- Maintaining systems documentation.
- Working closely with the business subject matter experts in the definition, training, implementation, and support of business specifications.
- Defining requirements through interviews and existing system documentation or procedures.
- Evaluating information gathered from multiple sources and translating high level information into details.
- Acting as liaison between the business users, vendors and technology teams.
- Working with software tools to gather and document requirements and rules.
- Creating and executing database queries.
- Organizing and lead meetings with business and technology teams.
- Writing test plans.
- Performing manual tests and document results.
- Tracking defects in tracking tool.
- Supporting a variety of operations/production problems requiring judgment within generally defined policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn business processes
- Capable of producing adequate quality and quantity of work
- Ability to utilize a PC and applicable business software
- Competency to learn new software tools
- Organize and interpret data
- Ability to handle multiple assignments while meeting established schedules and deadlines in an organized manner
