Summary
As a Night Team Member at Auto Parts Mississippi (APMM), you will be an integral part of our manufacturing process, ensuring that our production goals are met during the night shift. This role is vital to maintaining our reputation for excellence and supporting our mission of quality and reliability in automotive supply.
Responsibilities
Responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support production needs. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing tooling issues to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. You will perform preventive maintenance on tools and dies to ensure their longevity and reliability. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to meet precise specifications will be a key part of your role. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support manufacturing goals and maintain accurate documentation for repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities. Upholding safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve tooling performance, production processes, and workplace safety are critical components of this position.
Qualifications
Candidates must have an associate degree in Tool and Die Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent technical training or certifications also being considered. A minimum of 3 years of experience in tool and die making, machining, or a related manufacturing environment is required. Proficiency in CNC machining, tool and die fabrication, and the use of precision measurement tools is essential. A strong understanding of materials, metallurgy, and manufacturing processes is necessary, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications. Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred. Successful candidates will possess strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills, as well as a solid knowledge of safety protocols and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
