What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Specialist position at Auto Research Center, LLC?
Auto Research Center is a specialized research facility, which sells time in its various test rigs (such as our wind tunnel, seven post rig and gearbox dyno) and provides design, CAE and consultancy services to government/military, commercial vehicle, automotive, racing clientele as well as various other industries.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including:
- Works within various industries, including the automotive industry as well as exploring new markets to establish ARC as a key partner for aerodynamic and vehicle dynamic solutions using our various facilities and engineering services
- Growing ARC business by researching and finding potential clients and industries where ARC engineering solutions are applicable
- Continually builds, maintains, and manages a pipeline of revenue generating business opportunities
- Leads and manages projects and clients from proposal to the final written report
- Travels as required to develop strong business relationships with clients and prospective clients
- Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience selling engineering services as solutions to customers.
- Bachelors degree Engineering plus two (2) years of professional sales experience or five (5) years of professional sales experience in a related technical industry may substitute for formal education where appropriate
- A minimum of (1) year of experience cold calling on national and smaller single location accounts;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Working knowledge of and ability to operate a personal computer;
- Knowledge of vehicle aerodynamics and/or computational fluid dynamics software (CFD) is a plus;
- Strong leadership and customer service skills with the ability to ensure that a high level of service and quality is maintained
