Shuttle Driver
Summary of Position:
- To move vehicles for processing and release to rail or haul-away carrier, also move vehicles to shipping companies and consolidates (bunches) vehicles to make room for other vehicles.
- Associates drive vehicles from lots to shop to shipment areas. Will wash and fuel cars. May throw mats and other basic accessories for the Accessory shop. Responsible for various clean-up tasks such as breaking down cardboard.
Essential Functions, Duties & Tasks:
- Able to wash cars.
- Drive vehicles to and from specified locations.
- Ensure vehicles are available for work in the other areas.
- Ensure vehicles are parked in proper locations.
- Ensure yard quality standards are maintained.
- Follow all safety guidelines and attend safety meetings.
- Gases and drives vehicles through car wash.
- Identify vehicles and insert documentation as required.
- Inform Leads or Managers of significant departmental issues.
- Keep Leads, Managers, and others informed of significant issues.
- Log processed work into computer program or tracking system as required.
- Meet or exceed established production and quality standards.
- Move vehicles from staging areas to shipping bay location.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must read and match VIN numbers quickly and accurately to ensure movement of proper vehicles.
- Park new vehicles in assigned areas.
- Performs job in a safe manner.
- Read and understand VIN numbers, repair orders, purchase orders, purge sheets, and other documents to complete work.
- Visually verifies that vehicle is damage free.
- Work as part of a team.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as.
- Daily clean up.
- May put throw in parts into vehicles.
- Notify supervisor of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in facility safety efforts by attending monthly safety meetings, report accidents and injuries on appropriate forms, and communicates the procedure to all appropriate customers/vendors and AWC personnel.
- Understand policies, including but not limited to company safety policies.
- Upkeep and maintenance of work are.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to adhere to strict production and quality standards without variance.
- Ability to communicate diplomatically.

- Ability to judge distances.
- Ability to keep confidential any work documents seen or conversations heard during performance of job duties.
- Ability to pass driver's safety test at 80% or better.
- Ability to read and match numbers quickly and accurately .
- Ability to read and understand location cards and work orders.
- Ability to read and understand SDS.
- Ability to write, read, and comprehend basic English.
- Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles.
- Able to lift 35 pounds.
Education, Experience & Minimum Requirements:
- Follow directions, both written and verbal.
- Good visual ability and auditory ability.
- Positively represent AWC.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understand Company and Customer requirements.
