What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shuttle Driver position at Auto Warehousing Company?
Auto Warehousing Company has been in business since 1962, we are the largest full service auto servicing and processing company in the nation. AWC provides a variety of services for auto manufacturers, including loading and unloading new vehicles onto railcars, installing accessories, body repair, and general vehicle inspection and processing.
We are hiring 1 Full Time Shuttle Driver
Summary of Positions:
This position primarily drives vehicles within the port facility and within the AWC facility in a safe and efficient manner. This position may also be required to drive on public road shuttling a vehicle to and from an up fitter.
Essential Functions, Duties & Tasks:
Provide the appropriate new vehicles to transform, and remove completed vehicles from the facility
- Obtain work order or move ticket from the Lead
- Verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work order
- Complete walk around quality inspection and notify the Lead of damage
- Place work order on the dashboard, or move ticket in the cup holder
- Drive and park vehicle in appropriate work station
- Place key fob in the cup holder
- Complete post move interior inspection
Provide the appropriate new vehicles to the off-site up-fitters company, and return completed vehicles to the AWC facility
- Obtain work order or move ticket from the Lead
- Verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work order
- Complete walk around quality inspection and notify the Lead of damage
- Place work order on the dashboard, or move ticket in the cup holder
- Drive vehicle in procession to the off-site location
- Place key fob in the cup holder
- Complete post move interior inspection
- Train new Shuttler's and temporary workers
- Other duties assigned by manager
Maintain a high level of focus and attention to detail
- Review appropriate vehicle surfaces, identify, and document vehicle damage and report to the Lead
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and interpret vehicle identification numbers
- Ability to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
- Ability to drive in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to pass with 80% accuracy the AWC Safe Driving quiz
- Excellent vision and attention to detail
- Ability to keep confidential any work documents seen or conversations heard during performance of job duties
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education, Experience & Minimum Requirements:
- Valid state driver's license
- High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Requirements:
- some shuttle experience
