Brief Description
Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician position is a full-time position that reports to the Value Stream Manager. A Maintenance Technician should be able to differentiate between mechanical, electrical, and setup issues and perform the necessary repairs to correct any mechanical problems or abnormalities.
The Maintenance Technician needs to be familiar with and practice all required safety practices associated with the performance of their duties. The Technician must be able to recognize unsafe or dangerous conditions and be able to take appropriate measures to correct those conditions.
The Maintenance Technician should be willing and able to stay current with new technologies that directly apply to the productivity and quality instruments that may be used.
Perform any machine and building repairs, modifications, enhancements, installations, and preventative maintenance that may be required to maintain the highest operating efficiency possible.

Major Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems with production, quality, and inspection equipment.
- Be able to quickly isolate what the problem is and what is causing it.
- Utilize proper lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Decide what the permanent corrective action is and be able to implement that change.
- Understand electrical and mechanical drawings to identify parts needed to perform repair, moving, positioning, and commissioning of equipment.
- Read a layout blueprint and position a machine according to that blueprint, following all applicable OSHA and MIOSHA safety rules and building codes.
- Understand workflow and 5S principles and be able to spot problems that may adversely affect these principles when placing machinery.
- Acquire licenses for equipment needed for the moving of machinery. Lift truck, man-lift, articulating lifts, cranes etc. Continuous Improvement implementations.
- Assess the mechanical feasibility of a continuous improvement suggestions.
- Make machine modifications to implement these improvements. Be able to fabricate minor machine parts, guards, and other items as necessary.
- Run basic machines need to fabricate parts. Welder, torches, mill, drill press, bandsaw, etc.
- Perform basic machine building and troubleshooting functions. Ability to repair and rebuild basic machine parts as necessary.
- Knowledge of basic machine principles necessary to repair/rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, clutches, etc.
- Diagnose building problems and make occasional minor repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring. carpentry, dry wall, exterior structure, and appliances.
- Willing and able to stay current with new technologies that directly apply to the productivity and quality instruments that may be used.
- Knowledge of basic machine principles necessary to repair/rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, clutches, etc.
- 5-axis equipment

- Electrical alignments experience.
- Mechanical repairs experience.
- PLC experience a plus
- Robotic experience a plus
- Programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Work safely and well in a group environment moving heavy machinery.
- Be flexible and adaptable to a growing and changing high-demand environment.
- Make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffoldings, and platforms. Systems and equipment worked on can be in hard-to-reach places.
- Be familiar with and practice all required safety practices associated with the performance of their duties.
- Recognize unsafe or dangerous conditions and take appropriate measures to correct those conditions.
- Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in uncomfortable positions. Frequently lift, carry and setup parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
- Minimum high-school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years maintenance experience.
- Electrical experience.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
