Autocam Medical is a global contract manufacturer of orthopedic implants, spinal implants, precision instruments and orthopedic cutting tools. We offer a value-added approach to high-precision manufacturing, with specialties in CNC milling, turning and cutter grinding.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Materials Supervisor is responsible to oversee the management of materials within our medical device manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in inventory control, materials handling, and supply chain management within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Supervise the materials team to ensure effective management of raw materials, components, and finished goods inventory.
- Develop and implement processes to optimize material handling, storage, and movement within the manufacturing facility.
- Coordinate with production teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability of supplies to meet production schedules.
- Ensure that all material transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system and that inventory levels are regularly monitored and maintained.
- Monitor and maintain material quality standards, ensuring all materials meet regulatory and quality specifications.
- Lead the ordering and purchasing process for raw materials, components, and packaging in coordination with the procurement department.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and audits, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA) and internal procedures related to materials management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Procurement, to support manufacturing goals and troubleshoot material-related issues.
- Train and mentor materials handling staff to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve materials management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize production downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
