Job Overview:
The Test Engineering Manager position is responsible for hands-on test preparation, execution, reporting and associated activities while also being responsible for performance and deliverables of the department, along with managing and mentoring direct reports. The candidate will be part of a diverse team performing product testing in support of validating product functionality, performance, reliability, durability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Education and Experience
Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection. Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans that align with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
- A disciplined approach in job execution, following established protocols and standards, detailed and complete documentation and document retention.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure products are free of defects and meet customer expectations.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of testing activities, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, as needed.
- Effective collaboration with other departments, such as development, product management and operations.
- Implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in ME or EE or equivalent MET or EET.
- At least ten years test engineering experience in a similar environment, with five years' experience in an automotive environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, complex measuring chains, strain gauges, load cells, pressure transducers, displacement transducers, accelerometers and thermocouples (among others).
- Experience with vibration analysis and associated analytical tools, determination of durability drive cycles and collaborating on interpretive and qualitative feedback with engineering teams
- Fast learner, strong organizational skills, and time management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to think outside of the box to solve scheduling issues as they arise.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prioritize tasks.
