Responsibilities - Service Tech :
Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.Perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him / her.Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of, with some assistance : engines, power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering and suspension systems, electronics to include ECM's, PCM’s, ECU's, sensors, etc.Communicate with our Parts Department to obtain needed partsSave and tag parts if the repair is under warranty or requested by the customerExamine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is requiredRoad-test vehicles when requestedSupervise work of any apprentice technicians as assignedAttend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletinsEnsure that serviced vehicles are returned in clean, showroom conditionKeep Service Area neat. Be able to account for dealership-owned tools at all timesFollow government regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wasteFollow safety procedures and immediately report accidents to manager or supervisorQualifications and Requirements - Service Tech :
At least two years of automotive service technician experience.Volkswagen Service Technician experience required, at least 1 yearGeneral mechanical skillsPennsylvania State and Emissions Inspection LicenseComputer proficiencyAbility to read and comprehend instructions and information. ASE certification preferred.Must have own toolsValid driver's license and acceptable, safe driving recordAbility to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checkAll applicants must consent to and pass pre-employment screening to include background check, MVR and pre-employment drug test.
