What You’ll Do
- Support the Mission, Vision and Values of Autoliv through daily actions of decisions to become an effective agent of change.
- Driving the company-wide continuous improvement effort to maximize safety, quality, reliability, and cost reduction of manufacturing.
- Accomplishing budget commitments, operating plans and plant deployment objectives.
- Ensuring environmental compliance and safety corporate goals are achieved.
- Leading, promoting, educating and instilling a culture of Zero Defects throughout the plant organization by following standard work and specifications, and by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts including information boards, visual indicators, pitch by-pitch tracking, and other appropriate tools and techniques.
- Providing leadership consistency in implementing best demonstrated practices across all areas of the plant.
- Fostering an environment of teamwork across departments, functions, and roles.
- Accountability for the communication effectiveness and support of the team. This includes the acquisition, filtering and distribution of relevant information.
- Support peers, business units, design engineers and related departments by building networks, sharing successes, tools and knowledge.
- Accomplishing budget commitments, operating plans and plant deployment objectives.
- Guiding the production team to improve Safety and Environmental goals, to improve customer service through good manufacturing practices with managing total cost, quality, and on-time delivery through analysis of data and improving team member performance.
- Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
- Develop and motivate team members to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long term performance plan goals. Exhibit the ability to think quickly, creatively and challenge the team to do the same.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members to achieve planned results.
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management or related field strongly desired or equivalent related experience required.
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing role is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and their application in a production environment, including experience in converting from traditional manufacturing to Lean principles (scheduling, reduction of cycle time, visual metrics, flow and load balancing preferred) and methodology is strongly desired.
