INTRODUCTION
Automated Laundry Systems & Supply was established in 1980 to serve the commercial laundry and dry-cleaning industries throughout the state of Alaska. A full line commercial and industrial laundry and dry-cleaning distributor, the company provides equipment, service, parts, supplies, facility design and consultation. ALS&S sells laundry and dry-cleaning equipment, energy saving ozone and reclamation equipment, ergonomic and ancillary equipment, environmental products, parts, installation and technical services, preventative maintenance services, laundry and janitorial chemicals, and laundry and dry-cleaning supplies. In 2017 ALS&S launched a division called ACE Chemical and Equipment Solutions It is Alaska's premier Dishwasher Leasing, Sales, and Service company along with a new floor care program. JOB OVERVIEW
The Service Technician repairs, maintains and installs commercial and industrial laundry equipment. Travel throughout the state and extended overnight stays will be required. Availability on weekends if needed (On-Call schedule) and travel is required.
In addition to maintaining equipment, responsibilities include completing paperwork, written and verbal communication with customers, vendors and other departments within the company. ALS & S fosters a professional and friendly business environment and seeks applicants that work well with others and will represent the company in a positive manner. Applicant must be self-directed, organized, and dependable. This is a full time position, hours Monday thru Friday, 8a – 4p. Occasional overtime and weekend work required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous technical experience (in any industry) is required. Applicant must possess a basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing and mechanics. Must have own tools to be used on jobs. Specialty tools will be provided. Applicant must be able to lift heavy equipment with assistance and work in tight spaces.
Transportation to and from the jobsite requires applicants to have a dependable car, driver's license, clean driving record and insurance. Applicants must be able to obtain security clearance with the Department of Corrections and Military Bases.
