Manufacturing Systems Integration Lead
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Contract Duration: 6–12-month contract
Work Type: Full-time, Onsite, with potential for hybrid work at times
As the Manufacturing Systems Integration Lead you will spearhead the delivery of cutting-edge Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure projects, driving them from concept to completion. This role is the critical bridge between OT and IT systems, ensuring seamless integration, adherence to industry standards, and alignment with business goals. Additionally, you will oversee the management and compliance of digital infrastructure, OT, and IT networks, and relevant applications, particularly within manufacturing environments. You will routinely liaise with internal stakeholders, system owners, and global engineering/IT functions to ensure infrastructure compliance and network configuration support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
· Take charge of planning, executing, and finalizing OT/IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
· Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and contingency strategies.
· Maintain a clear focus on project goals, aligning OT infrastructure initiatives with broader organizational strategies.
Technical Oversight
· Manage the design and installation of critical OT network systems and infrastructure for large capital expansion projects.
· Oversee the integration of factory floor assets, monitoring infrastructure (hardware and software), historian systems, MES, and SAP applications with OT/IT networks to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
· Identify risks and improvement opportunities in OT/IT systems and take proactive actions to address them.
· Collaborate with IT to ensure cybersecurity measures and network integrity in OT environments.
· Supervise the deployment of hardware, software, and networking components to meet operational requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
· Act as the primary liaison between IT, OT, engineering, and operations teams, fostering collaboration and shared understanding.
· Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to define project requirements, support implementation, and maintain ongoing infrastructure.
· Assist project owners in meeting requirements, including interfacing new equipment with existing site networks, and provide input to project schedules and document trackers related to OT/IT connectivity objectives.
Documentation and Compliance
· Manage site OT and system documentation, including policies, procedures, inventory, and drawings, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, cGMP standards, and organizational procedures in all activities.
· Conduct project reviews to evaluate performance, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
Risk and Vendor Management
· Manage external vendors as required to support project implementation and ongoing infrastructure support.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with OT/IT projects, minimizing operational disruptions and ensuring project success.
Team Leadership
· Coordinate cross-functional teams, including internal staff, external vendors, and contractors, to achieve project objectives.
· Mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Requirements
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of experience managing OT/IT infrastructure or similar industrial technology projects.
· Demonstrated expertise in OT systems, including SCADA, MES, PLCs, ICS, and IT/OT convergence.
· Proven experience in IT/OT support within the manufacturing industry, preferably life sciences or pharmaceutical sectors.
· Experience in executing process automation projects.
Preferred Technical Experience
· Experience with Windows operating systems.
· Familiarity with Rockwell Software and Configuration Management Databases.
· Expertise in network technologies such as switches and firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco).
· Knowledge of historian systems, SAP, and MES applications.

Pay: $70.00 - $88.50 per hour
