We are on the grow again and looking for a Compliance Officer to join our team. This key role will oversee legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring that all business operations adhere to industry standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the SaaS HCM industry, a proactive approach to risk management, and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements.

This position is located onsite, full-time, at our corporate offices in Shreveport, LA. Reports to the President/CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Legal Representation and Guidance
- Represent or assist in legal matters of the Company.
- Assigned Regulatory Compliance Areas:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) / State Privacy Laws
- Data Breach Notification Laws
- CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
- StateRamp Certification and Compliance
- SOC I Type 2 Compliance (including the audit)
- SOC II Type 2 Compliance (including the audit)
- Multistate Tax and Nexus Laws
- Biometrics Regulation
- Software Licensing Agreements and Compliance
- Contractual Compliance (adherence to client contracts and SLA; vendor and third-party risk management)
- Regulatory Compliance
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the SaaS HCM industry.
- Ensure the company's policies and procedures comply with the applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage all compliance audits and inspections.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of company polices to reflect changes in laws and regulations.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of the problematic issues.
- Provide guidance to management on regulatory matters and compliance issues.
- Training and education:
- Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees to ensure they understand and comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor and report on compliance activities and metrics to senior management and the board of directors.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues and complaints.
- Client Compliance Support:
- Assist clients in understanding and complying with relevant regulatory requirements related to our SaaS HCM solutions
- Other Responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The list below is representative of the qualifications, skills, and abilities required and preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Juris Doctor, Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in the SaaS or HCM industry.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the SaaS HCM industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with software and systems preferred.
- Strong client centric focus.
- Demonstration of outstanding communication skills internally and externally, across teams and functions.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organizing skills and attention to details.
- High degree of both technical expertise and business acumen.
- Ability to work with people and work as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in an environment in which constant deadlines exist.
- Must be able to work the hours necessary to successfully perform in this position.
