Description:
Automatic Water Conditioning Co. seeks individuals with technical experience to provide service and repair for water treatment systems in the shop and in the field.
A service technician provides delivery, repair, and maintenance for Automatic Water Conditioning Co. products. The technician’s goal is to provide outstanding service to customers and exceed their expectations.
As a service technician, you will perform the tasks and duties listed below. In addition, a technician is required to be able to field questions and have a positive attitude when dealing with customers either over the phone or in person. Service technicians’ trouble shoot water treatment equipment, complete required maintenance and deliver salt for systems.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Satisfactory Driving Record.
- Able to safely drive a heavy duty 8-ton truck.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills, pleasant and friendly.
- Good at working with the public.
- Attentive to detail.
- Employee must be available to work between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays and after 5 pm.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height. Must be able to lift heavy objects in excess of 100 lbs. manually and with equipment such as a dolly.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Travel to and work off site at residential and commercial sites.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 year technical degree.
- 2 years of related technical experience.
- Experience operating a forklift.
Duties:
- Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to safety and Automatic Water Conditioning Co.’s employee Manual.
- Communicate with customers in a positive manner and maintain a positive public image for Automatic Water Conditioning Co.
- Assist senior service technician.
- Deliver salt, fill brine tanks with salt, add resin acid cleaner, and replace filters. Flush and test filter after service.
- Record service work done and parts or products used on water treatment systems such as water softeners, salt delivery, filter changes, etc. Complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Show, promote and sell products to customers while on site, i.e. salt or filters.
- Interact with customers to explain service work completed, receive payments, get documents signed and give receipts.
- Examine plumbing systems to determine connections, pipes, and fittings required for new or replacement installations. Take photos and water samples as needed.
- Warehouse work, such as, organizing, cleaning, refurbishing equipment, assembling new systems or any other work assigned.
- Load and unload vehicles and trucks for both products shipped and received.
- Maintain stock of parts and supplies on service vehicle daily.
- Compare daily work orders with vehicle stock to verify all needed items are in vehicle.
- Keep driving records such as hours driven hours, gas receipts, mileage, etc.
- Inspect vehicle daily and report any mechanical problems.
- Perform simple maintenance work on vehicles such as filling fluids, refueling, filling tires with air, and cleaning vehicle interior and exterior.

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
