About the Role:

As the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, you will be at the helm of ensuring smooth production operations during your shift. This role involves leading a team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving process improvements to meet customer expectations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise, motivate, and inspire employees to achieve production goals, maintain safety standards, and meet quality expectations.
• Lead daily shift meetings to communicate objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and regular performance feedback.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with company values.

Production Oversight

• Assign tasks and adjust staffing levels to optimize workflow and meet production schedules.
• Oversee production processes, including start-up, shut down, processing, trimming, packaging, and inspections.
• Collaborate with other shift supervisors to ensure seamless shift transitions.

Quality & Process Improvement

• Address quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and document them in job history logs.
• Lead and sustain process improvement initiatives and 5S standards.
• Exercise authority to stop production or shipments to resolve quality concerns.

Administrative & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records for production, attendance, training, safety, and performance evaluations.
• Partner with HR to resolve attendance, behavior, or workplace issues.
• Prepare and submit end-of-shift reports, conducting After Action Reviews when necessary.

Equipment & Safety

• Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance using formal work requests.
• Ensure workplace safety by investigating incidents and serving as a 1st responder when required.
• Obtain and maintain certifications, including forklift operation and RJG training.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic manufacturing.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams and achieve operational goals.
• Effective communication skills for providing clear instructions and writing reports.
• Basic math skills and the ability to interpret charts, graphs, and performance metrics.
• Knowledge of injection molding and processing is preferred.
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills with a focus on team collaboration.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and climb frequently.
• Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Good vision (close, color, peripheral, depth) correctable to 20x40.
• Willingness to work extended hours, holidays, and swing shifts as needed.
