Job Overview
Automation Robotics and Controls (ARC) is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to design, develop, and maintain control systems for automated industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming PLCs, integrating control hardware, troubleshooting automation systems, and ensuring seamless operation of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PLC programs for industrial automation systems, including logic, motion control, and communication protocols.
- Configure and integrate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to interface with PLCs for seamless user interaction.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate vision inspection systems and distributed control systems into existing automation processes.
- Test, debug, and optimize PLC programs to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance across various systems.
- Perform on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC systems to minimize operational downtime and ensure efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including program backups, system manuals, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Update and modify existing PLC programs to enhance system performance and adapt to new requirements.
- Provide training and technical support to customer staff on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in all programming, installation, and maintenance activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting, ideally within an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with HMI development and SCADA systems, including configuration and integration.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and communication networks.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with team members and thorough documentation.
- Willingness to travel for on-site commissioning and support (up to 60-80%, as required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
