Job Summary
Order Management Specialists will interact with customers by addressing inquiries, entering customer orders, placing, and tracking material orders and resolving complaints to find workable solutions.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Interacts with Allied team members, customers and vendors via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
- Maintains a positive, empathic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Enters sales orders, discreet purchase and work orders after receipt of validated customer purchase order and completed estimate.
- Fields customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the specialist knowledge, escalates to Order Management Manager for resolution.
- Manages Sales Order dates to make sure the customer is informed, by re-acknowledgement of the sales order, of any expected delayed shipments.
- Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers’ problems and concerns.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned. Some additional duties may include packing, shipping, and receiving materials.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 years of Proven work experience as an Order Entry Specialist or similar role
- Excellent customer service communication skills including active listening.
- Knowledge of inventory management
- Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Actively seeks information to understand customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
- Acts independently and on own initiative.
- Uses understanding of customer needs to initiate solutions.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively present information in a clear and organized manner, and respond professionally and appropriately to questions of managers, reps, and customers.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Regularly repeat the same movements when entering data.
