Location: Remote within the United States, preferably in the Southeastern states. This role requires up to 50% overnight travel to the client's sites.
A full-service conveyor and materials handling equipment company is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to add to their team!
In this role, you will participate in various stages of production, including designing, documenting, and commissioning electrical control systems. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and able to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design electrical controls for conveyor systems
- Develop bill of materials lists and manage the procurement of components
- Program and troubleshoot PLC's, HMI's, VFD's and Safety Monitors
- Generate CAD-based schematics, installation drawings, and packets
- Field installation commissioning and troubleshooting
- Train operators of the installed systems
- Customer service support of existing systems
- Light mechanical work
Qualifications:
- AS or BS degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of Industrial Automation experience
- PLC programming and HMI development experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Communication/networking systems experience (ASi, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.)
- Experience with variable speed drives
- Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
- Willingness to travel 50%
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Salary : $71,400 - $94,500
