Summary
The Claims Manager’s primary focus will be on all aspects of the claim adjudication process and customer service of the GAP Claims Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the GAP Claims Department in concert with the Director of GAP Claims
- Train, review, and manage the performance of adjusters and customer service representatives
- Review claims exceeding the authority of adjusters
- Monitor incoming workloads and maintain schedules, ensuring proper distribution of work and phone coverage
- Handle escalated and disputed claims calls from customers, dealers, and agents
- Travel as necessary
- As otherwise directed by senior management
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years or greater experience in claims and/or call center position
- Previous supervision or management of a claims department and/or call center group
Skills
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Excel, Word & PCRS
- Excellent writing and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers
- Detail-oriented and organized
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day. The employee must be able to sit for long periods of time.
