Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Strategy is responsible for evaluating opportunities and delivering recommendations that align with AutoNation’s growth strategy
Organizational Relationships:
Directly reports to the V.P. of Strategy with interaction across Executive leadership, Board of Directors, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Finance and M&A teams, and business stakeholders
Job Responsibilities:
- Support AutoNation’s Pre-Owned Growth Strategy
- Develop comprehensive landscape view of marketplace
- Assess gaps to address (e.g. capabilities, operating model, solutions)
- Define blueprint for scalable approach to grow Pre-Owned
- Identify viable growth plans: both organic and inorganic
- Collaborate with M&A team on evaluation of potential acquisition targets, with emphasis on strategy due diligence and fit with AutoNation
- Support strategic planning and communication efforts (e.g. EC reviews, Board meetings)
- Provide overall support around AutoNation’s strategic initiatives
- Evaluate and assess opportunities for fit with AutoNation strategy
- Support regular meetings with Executive Committee and Board of Directors on Brand Extensions Strategy
Qualifications:
- 8 years of relevant work experience, strong preference for experience working in core operational areas of automotive retail
- Significant experience working with quantitative analyses (e.g. financial, modeling, forecasting)
- Strong communication skills: both verbal and written
- Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Ability to be flexible and work in fluid, fast-paced environment
- Experience working in MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Must meet company’s requirements for employment
- Must adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Physical Requirements:
- Standard office environment, with occasional travel (~1-2x per month)
