Your Impact
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our autonomous robotic systems. Your expertise will help mitigate risks, integrate safety into design processes, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. You will:
- Lead a culture of safety by embedding risk assessment and mitigation strategies into product development.
- Develop and implement safety concepts for autonomous vehicle control systems.
- Analyze safety risks using methods like HARA, STPA, FMEA, and FTA.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety into hardware and software design.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and UL 4600.
- Oversee safety validation through testing, simulation, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in functional safety practices and industry advancements.
Your Responsibilities
- Define and implement functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control.
- Conduct safety analysis and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Work closely with hardware and software teams to ensure safety measures are incorporated into design.
- Oversee and review safety verification and validation activities.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, cases, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety audits, assessments, and certification processes.
- Provide technical guidance to teams on best practices for functional safety.
- Stay up to date on emerging safety trends and advancements in autonomous technology.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE), CFSP, AFSP, or similar credentials (preferred).
Experience & Expertise
- 3 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in robotics, automotive, heavy machinery, or agricultural equipment.
- Strong knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, ISO 25119, IEC 61508).
- Proven experience working with safety-critical systems.

- Strong skills in safety lifecycle processes and safety integrity levels.
