About the Role
We are seeking a Program Manager II to join our team in Mendon, Utah. This role is integral to the Program Management Office (PMO) and involves coordinating and executing corporate programs and projects. The Program Manager II will oversee multiple projects, ensuring their successful planning, execution, and completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires a strong ability to manage deadlines, track progress, and communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders. Travel for this role may range from 10-15%.
Job Duties
Managing People
- Supervise project staff to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to Dev Managers, Product Managers, and team members.
- Implement performance management processes for direct reports.
- Conduct daily standups to review project backlog.
Program Execution
- Implement programs that align with organizational and stakeholder needs.
- Manage planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance tracking for corporate programs.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
- Clearly communicate priorities and team responsibilities.
- Train and mentor team members in project responsibilities.
Program Promotion and Utilization
- Promote programs across the organization to maximize effectiveness and adoption.
Program Evaluation
- Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
Product Development Process (PDP) Management
- Oversee the execution of the PDP within the program scope.
- Coordinate resources and activities to ensure timely product or service delivery.
Management
- Accept responsibility for the success or failure of assigned projects.
- Schedule and conduct project meetings, design reviews, and post-project evaluations.
- Manage multiple priorities to achieve project and company goals.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities and assist with responses to customer proposals and business development requests.
- Define project scope based on preliminary customer requirements.
- Assess risks and identify technical solutions for proposed work.
- Provide preliminary budgets, milestones, and invoice schedules.
- Coordinate contracts and Statements of Work.
Project Planning
- Work with customers and project teams to develop comprehensive project plans.
- Document and communicate customer requirements effectively.
- Ensure project plans include schedules, detailed task lists, and budgets.
- Address safety, quality, and risk mitigation in all project plans.
Project Milestones
- Define project milestones with deadlines and deliverables.
- Ensure milestones follow SMARTY principles (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Right-Sized, Time-Bound, and Yours).
- Identify and resolve root causes of missed milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a similar technical discipline.
- 6-10 years of experience as a Project Analyst, Planner, or Manager in software, hardware, or a related industry.
- 3-5 years of experience in Program Management overseeing multiple programs.
- Strong understanding of project management tools, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
- Proven success leading and managing teams in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in hardware and software product development.
- Preferred experience in automation or robotics.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, handling complex issues independently.
- Travel requirement: 10-25%.
