What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Controller position at Autoplex Restyling Centers?
The Opportunity
Autoplex is seeking a Business Controller who has experience in Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) growth companies. This person will manage day-to-day accounting, be involved with budgeting and forecasting, and guide the decision-making process for company growth and acquisitions.
The Business Controller must be able to work with computers, generate and analyze monthly/annual financial reports, work with external finance and legal partners, be familiar with State and Federal tax laws, and complete quarterly/ annual tax filings. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, a self-starter, energetic, and willing to learn and grow with the business. This person is someone who takes initiative to get the job done, takes pride in their work, is reliable and does not need much supervision.

What the Role Entails
The following are detailed performance objectives for the Business Controller. When measuring overall aptitude and cultural fit, all candidates will be benchmarked using these standards.
• Leadership, Management and Accountability (LMA): Work with Leadership Team to create financial standards and hold people accountable
• Financial Process / Budget / Reporting & Analysis: Oversee financial strategy; Generate financial reports and effectively analyze results; Perform compliance audits, monitor internal controls and own the budgeting process; Generate forecasts and make recommendations; Perform financial documentation; Ensure accurate and timely AP/AR and payroll accounting
• Take ownership of company financial rocks as outlined by EOS.
• Internal / External Partner Management: Manage relationships internally and externally with banks, CPAs, Insurance Brokers & HR Representatives; Perform legal partner management of contracts
• IT Systems and Office Support: Maintain IT Systems and software management
• HR Admin and Benefits Management: Manage HR processes, issues and document accordingly; Manage and monitor all benefit related activity
Year One Performance Objectives:
• Produce reliable company financial reports within 8-10 days of monthly/ quarterly/annual close dates
• Generate company monthly/quarterly/annual budgets and be able to adjust/ update all accordingly as the year progresses.
• Control inventory shrinkage at 1% or less.
• Keep Accounts Receivable within 60 days or less.
