Reports To: Shipping & Maintenance Supervisor
Accountability: To accurately and safely move material throughout the plant, stock room and shipping docks, to keep material on schedule and in organized / proper locations physically and in the Company operating system (Vantage). Work in a manner that is consistent with quality production; ensuring quality work before the product leaves is your responsibility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To maintain timely and accurate shipments, receiving and product stocking, to support internal and external customer requirements.
2. Proper packaging of all products for safe shipment.
3. Coordinate documentation for processing of Bills of Lading, outbound shipments for proper labeling and content of required parts, prior to the truck arrival.
4. Coordinate documentation for processing, issuing and stocking for all receiving activities including shipment verification and damaged goods reporting.
5. Organization, customer order and shop order allocation and inventory control of stocked items to support picking / dispatch reports to drive work schedules.
6. Continuously review and maintain organized material storage, stocking, loading and holding areas. Respecting and controlling the yellow safety lines and straight rows, including the side yard and back docks!
7. Load and unload trucks by hand or with pallet jacks, fork trucks or overhead cranes while completing routine PM check sheets as required.
8. Cross train employees as required, assisting in the daily / weekly clean up / organization of all areas as required. While working to OSHA and company safety rules.
9. Producing product with a quality mind-set. Verifying quality in production, part selection and correction of errors before product leaves the facility.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Technical:
- Crane Operation / Material Handling
- Safety awareness of heavy material in motion, OSHA and shop rules
- Product and systems knowledge
- Product retrieval, verification with paper work from various plant locations
- Good Computer Skills
- Shop Packet / Shop Floor Scheduling
Functional:
- Pulling, Pushing, Lifting (50lb.-70lbs)
- Standing, Walking (90%)
- Bending, Twisting, Kneeling (50%)
- Organization Skills and competitive nature
- Must be able to organize and multi task for efficient daily receiving and shipping
- Ability to climb into and up onto large trucks and be able to work at elevated levels
- Work Ethic & Teamwork skills
