This is a new role and will be a great opportunity for an accountant looking to get a depth of exposure to many areas of accounting. This role will also have the opportunity to assist during a new ERP transition and gain experience on NetSuite. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong base in accounting knowledge and good grasp of accounting concepts. Must have strong analytical skills and very comfortable with excel. Understands how to fully reconcile a simple balance sheet. And most importantly a desire to learn, provide solutions, and be part of a team.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist with executing monthly and year-end close.
- Applies a solid understanding of accounting methods and procedures.
- Performs general ledger transactions including balancing, reconciling and daily journal entries.
- Maintains general ledger accounts and verify accuracy of data.
- Ability to provide accurate support and reporting for year-end financial audits.
- Assists with preparation and analysis of financial information provided to outside departments.
- Documents accounting policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in performing work.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide support in most areas of accounting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift or move office products and supplies up to 20 pounds on occasion.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex regulations, laws, instructions, procedures, policies, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence, memos, policies, procedures and other documents.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge and proficient with Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced excel knowledge or training.
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with enterprise level accounting systems.
