AutoZone's Divisional HR Manager (DHRM) manages the overall human resources function for a store operations division to include staffing analysis, positive employee relations, training and development, recruiting and retention, strategic alignment and development, and regulatory environment compliance. Consults with and advises multi-level store operations managers and vice president to ensure all qualitative measures of people management are met. The DHRM hires, trains, develops, recruits, and retains high performing AutoZoners in a safe environment.
The qualified candidate must be an effective leader with excellent communication skills, strong decision making ability, results driven, self-motivated with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. The DHRM must have the ability to excel in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment. It is essential for the RM to foster and maintain a positive environment that develops and engages the store managers, generates sales, and maximizes profitability. Previous management experience is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervises personnel assigned to the division and manages organizational issues within the company operations
- Administer the succession planning management process for assigned regions
- Analyze and communicate Divisional HR metrics and provide recommendations to Divisional HR Team
- Develops short and long range strategic plans for effective recruitment and utilization of human resources
- Focuses on upgrading the quality, capability and diversity of the organization to improve productivity and performance
- Develops, monitors, and interprets key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Overseas operations of assigned division, including but not limited to, sales goals, customer service goals, staffing, training, scheduling, inventory, and employee relations
- Monitors investigations and assists as needed to support the Division
- Analyzes trends, identifies "hotspots", and provides best practices to Regional Staff to address and reverse trends
- Directs, recommends, and proactively communicates appropriate implementation of HR policies, practices, and initiatives;
- Lead investigations and represent the company in relevant legal matters relating to unemployment, workers compensation, investigations, civil suits resulting from claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, etc.
- Ensures adherence to corporate legal and regulatory compliance, including EEO/AAP, wage and hour regulations, and work authorization; designs division-specific policies and practices as needed
- Assist employees and management in conflict resolution and resolving internal employee relations concerns, conducting in-depth investigations and developing recommendations
- Encourages the utilization of employee recognition programs
