Job Opportunity:
The Auxiliary of UH Portage Medical Center has an immediate opening for:
Part-Time Bookkeeper (maximum 40 hours/month)
This position reports to the Executive Board of The Auxiliary of UH Portage Medical Center, a separate501(c) 3 organization whose mission is to render service to the hospital and its patients, to promote the health and welfare of the community, and to provide funds through special projects for patient services in accordance with hospital priorities.
Working with QuickBooks online, the responsibilities include: processing and payment of invoices, monthly bank reconciliations, tracking gift shop receivables, filing sales tax liabilities, month-end reconciliation and report generation. In addition, the bookkeeper prepares monthly billing statements and process payments for the organization’s medical alert program.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of QuickBooks online and Microsoft Word and Excel are required
- Attention to detail and high quality work.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate in a professional manner with Auxiliary volunteers and hospital staff.
- Background check, compliance with hospital’s COVID vaccine mandate, TB testing and flu vaccine mandate is required.
Benefits:
- $23/hour (1099 contract employee)
- Very flexible schedule (must have availability for some work hours between 8am – 4pm). Office located at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.

NOTE: This is not a University Hospitals Portage Medical Center position and does not include benefits.
