OPERATIONS MANAGER
Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the Director of the College Stores or her designee, the Operations Manager is responsible for all resources, including staffing, needed in support of the College Stores' goals. Works cooperatively with all members of the College Stores management team to maintain financial stability and provide excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with Professors to select and order required and non-required academic merchandise related to computers and supplies. Ability to order collegiate apparel and emblematic merchandise.
- Works with ApplicantPro, or similar program to advertise, recruit, hire and on-board student employees and casual and new hire bargaining unit positions.
- Processes divisional payroll in an accurate and timely manner following Auxiliary Services / Payclock rules and, when appropriate, procedures in keeping with the collectively bargained agreement with CSEA.
- May have responsibility for opening and closing the areas within the College Stores division. This includes keeping all involved keys and safe combinations in a confidential and safe manner.
- Supervision of bargaining unit and student staffs including training and coaching employees to provide excellent customer service while still maintaining CS set policies and procedures.
- Coordination of staffing for campus and CS events, including any cross training needed prior to such event.
- Plans, promotes, schedules and executes pick-up and redelivery of student's belongings for the Convenient Summer Storage program.
- Assists in maintaining a professional and welcoming store environment to our students and all members of the campus community by ensuring seasonal cleaning and maintenance is performed as needed. Also, facilitates any repairs or upgrades needed for the stores and related equipment and fixtures.
- Organize and supervise the CS annual inventory following established guidelines.
- Provides accurate, courteous and friendly assistance to all customers of the College Stores.
- Assists customers including operation of a cash register as needed.
- Supervises and assists in the checking-in and pricing of merchandise to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Supports and enforces established College Stores policies and procedures.
- Accepts responsibilities for any additional specific assignments as delegated by the College Stores Director and performs related job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
Or
- Associate's degree and two years related experience
