Job Details
Marine Structural Welder
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate skill and experience with three or more of the following: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, Carbon Steel, Aluminum, Copper-Nickel, and Stainless.
- Must understand heat requirements, amperages, voltages, pre-heats, inter-pass temperatures and post head requirements.
- Able to layout, burn, and prepare plate for installation.
- Familiar with filler wire controls, filler wire selection and acceptable weld preparation techniques.
- Have working knowledge of formal welding procedures, NAVSEA Standard Items, and safety requirements for the accomplishment of tasks.
- Able to perform grinding and joint preparation for NDT and inspection process and be proficient in carbon arc gouging.
- Strict adherence to safety, quality standards, good housekeeping policies, high level of critical thinking/reading comprehension is required.

Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions in written or spoken English.
- Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure.
- Must be reliable with a strong work ethic
- Must have basic hand tools applicable to your trade with bag or tote
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, tech manuals, and work specifications for various types of machinery and/or piping systems.
- Must be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection)
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
