Job Overview:
The AI Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the company's artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, products, and solutions adhere to global regulatory standards and ethical guidelines. This role requires a combination of legal knowledge, technical understanding of AI, and experience navigating complex regulatory frameworks. The specialist will work closely with legal, product, and engineering teams to identify risks, implement compliance processes, and ensure that all AI projects are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Oversight
- Stay up-to-date on local, national, and international regulations and laws related to AI, including but not limited to GDPR, AI Act, and other emerging AI regulations.
- Advise leadership and teams on AI-related regulatory changes, risks, and opportunities for compliance.
Compliance Framework Development:
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure AI products and services are ethically sound and legally compliant.
- Conduct regular assessments of the company’s AI products and processes to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess risks associated with the deployment and development of AI technologies.
- Work with cross-functional teams to address potential compliance gaps and propose risk mitigation strategies.
Collaboration with Legal & Policy Teams:
- Work alongside legal and policy teams to review AI-related contracts, partnerships, and collaborations.
- Ensure that AI-driven decisions and algorithms are transparent, non discriminatory, and fair, aligning with global ethical standards.
Training & Awareness:
- Conduct training for internal stakeholders on AI regulatory compliance requirements, ethical AI guidelines, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of compliance and responsibility within the organization regarding AI technology development.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of AI compliance audits, assessments, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews.
Research & Advocacy:
Monitor emerging trends and regulatory developments related to AI and advocate for the company's interests in industry forums, regulatory bodies, and public discussions on AI policy
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or JD is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in AI regulatory compliance, legal or policy-related work in technology, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, ethical implications, and data privacy laws.
- Proven track record of working with global regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
Skills:
- Expertise in AI regulations (GDPR, AI Act, etc.) and emerging AI ethics frameworks. * Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements for technical teams and business units.
- Project management experience and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
Preferred:
Certifications or coursework in AI, data privacy, or regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with machine learning models, algorithms, and AI development lifecycles.
- Experience in managing AI audits or assessments.
