Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various nursing systems, including Athenahealth. This role is essential in providing quality care to patients across diverse settings, including urgent care, senior care, and hospice care. The LVN will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs, documenting changes in condition.
- Assist with airway management and other emergency procedures as necessary.
- Perform phlebotomy for blood draws and laboratory testing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health management, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
- Support pediatric patients by utilizing experience with children when providing care.
Experience
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in urgent care, senior care, or hospice settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with coding practices related to nursing documentation is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage airway emergencies effectively.
- Experience working with children is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
