Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient assessment, and various nursing procedures. The LVN will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting in their recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate health status and needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, managing catheters, and performing airway management.
- Assist in discharge planning by educating patients about their health conditions and care plans.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health records systems such as Cerner.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Offer health coaching to patients to promote wellness and prevent complications.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and nursing procedures.
- Experience with patient assessment techniques and catheter care is preferred.
- Familiarity with sonography practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for patients.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care activities.
