Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses, ensuring comfort and dignity during their final stages of life. The Hospice Nurse will work closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in hospice settings, focusing on pain management and symptom control.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments to evaluate patient conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and end-of-life care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Assist with ostomy care and management for patients requiring specialized attention.
- Offer guidance on infectious disease care protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Support families through emotional challenges by providing compassionate communication and resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
