Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support patients and their families.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients, focusing on pain management and symptom control.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and other medical procedures.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding end-of-life care options.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient progress and changes in condition using electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in hospice care.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospice or palliative care is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral health principles and practices is a plus.
- Experience in travel nursing is beneficial for adaptability in various settings.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques may enhance patient assessment capabilities.
- Experience administering injections and providing infant care is advantageous.
- Background in pediatrics or ophthalmology can be beneficial for specialized patient needs.
- Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation techniques is desirable.
