Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support Opening & Closing Procedures as a Team: Assist in setting up and breaking down wine service areas, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts and maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Deliver Engaging Wine Service: Provide knowledgeable, attentive wine service to guests, making thoughtful recommendations and enhancing their dining experience through curated pairings.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Formal education in hospitality, enology, business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fine dining, beverage management, or a similar high-end hospitality environment. Prior experience as a Sommelier is strongly preferred.

Licensing & Certifications:

  • Introductory Sommelier Course Required
  • Certified Sommelier Preferred
  • Oklahoma ABLE Liquor License
  • ACE Certification

Bartender

Position Overview:

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role involves maintaining a well-stocked and organized bar, ensuring compliance with liquor laws, and collaborating with the service team to uphold Ava June’s hospitality standards.

  • Take and Fulfill Orders: Receive and accurately prepare beverage orders from guests and waitstaff, ensuring prompt and attentive service.
  • Craft High-Quality Beverages: Expertly mix and serve a variety of classic cocktails, signature drinks, wines, beers, and nonalcoholic beverages, maintaining consistency and quality standards.
  • Prepare for Service: Ensure all bar prep—including fruit garnishes, syrups, fresh juices, and specialty ingredients—is completed before service to maintain efficiency and smooth operations.
  • Maintain a Clean & Organized Bar: Regularly clean bar surfaces, tools, and glassware while keeping the back bar and storage areas well-stocked and orderly.
  • Showcase Presentation: Arrange glasses, liquor bottles, and bar displays in an appealing and organized manner that enhances the guest experience.
  • Ensure Compliance & Responsible Service: Verify customer IDs to ensure guests meet legal drinking age requirements and adhere to Oklahoma ABLE liquor laws. Exercise good judgment in responsibly refusing service to intoxicated or disruptive patrons.
