Role : Thermal Test Engineer
Location : San Jose, CA (Onsite)
A thermal test engineer is primarily responsible for designing and conducting thermal tests on components or systems to evaluate their performance under various temperature conditions, analyzing the collected data, and ensuring that the design meets thermal requirements by identifying potential issues and proposing solutions
- Comparing thermal simulations and calculations to predict the temperature behavior of components and systems under different operating conditions using tools like Flotherm or Icepack.
- Designing and documenting detailed thermal test plans, including test parameters, instrumentation requirements, and data collection procedures.
- Setting up thermal test chambers and equipment, installing sensors / thermocouples and instrumentation on test articles, and executing thermal tests according to established protocols. Such as wind tunnel, acoustic and Instron machine.
- Monitoring test data in real-time, recording results, and analyzing thermal performance data to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Preparing comprehensive test reports detailing results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for design modifications.
- Working closely with thermal design engineers to identify thermal design challenges, propose solutions, and incorporate feedback into the design process.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues encountered during testing, including unexpected temperature variations or malfunctioning instrumentation.
- Must have Associate degree in engineering or equivalent background.
- Team player with strong communication skill.
- Knowledge in Microsoft applications such as excel, PowerPoint and word is required.
- Basic coding is desired but not necessary.
