As our Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials and services. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining pricing for inventory and internal departmental and project requirements using strong negotiating skills and the ability to work with our suppliers on discrepancy issues. Additionally, you will evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and then benchmark those suppliers through the life of the contract and/or arrangement. This role also has tactical responsibilities for ensuring goods are ordered and delivered in a timely manner. Reporting directly to our Director of Supply Chain, this position is based in Suwanee, GA.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience: Work requires computers skills and experience using MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email/ internet software. 3-5 years of Purchasing and Supply Chain experience in the energy and/or service providing industries.
- Skills: Must have working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred). Develop and maintain market pricing knowledge and benchmarks; track supplier’s activity and identify commercial opportunities. Implement standardized process to obtain internal pricing data and track data against market trends.
- Customer Focus: Work requires the ability to travel as needed <10%. Ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Support the Category Managers in execution of procured goods. Work requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with multi-cultural and multi-level teams. Effective management and communications (oral and written) are required as the job will be in constant communication with management, and vendors from around the globe
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure flawless execution of goods and services for projects, which includes, but not limited to, Field Project Managers.
- Maintains supplier benchmarks and contractual files.
- Must be able to analyze and summarize costing data for supplier selection.
- Ability to create and execute an RFP
- Ability to select best options and alternatives
- Works with the accounting department to ensure all month-end activities are completed on-time within current Oracle system and in correct formats.
- Ensures that customer field work and shop work has all materials on-time and within budget following proper documentation, controls and formal defined processes
- Responsible for investigation, analysis, and sourcing of suppliers.
- Supports the introduction of new ideas and/or changes to current processes. Be an advocate for change.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
