As a Coatings Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Review work orders or receive instructions from the supervisor or lead regarding the painting tasks.
- Smoother surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool to ensure the area is ready for painting.
- Remove old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch as necessary to prepare surfaces.
- Allow for the specified curing and drying time before notifying the lead when the product is ready for final inspection.
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance on painting equipment to ensure they are in proper working order.
Requirements
- Prior experience in painting or surface preparation is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet project goals.
