As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing clear, accurate, and detailed working plans and drawings based on project specifications. Your work will play a key role in ensuring precise design solutions that align with manufacturing and engineering standards.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this position is based on site in Kewanee, IL.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: AutoCAD and PTC Creo experience required.
- Identifies factors affecting project design as instructed in design review meetings, and by using information provided by the customer and under direction from the Engineering Manager.
- Uses knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, etc., in developing designs and confers with other departments as necessary to ensure integrity and manufacturability.
- Prepares drawings and is responsible for resolving associated mechanical and fabrication problems.
- Participates and develops design special modifications to existing parts.
- Creates and edits drawings using current AutoCAD and PTC Creo software.
- Forwards drawings to Engineering Manager for preliminary review and approval and makes changes and corrections as needed before being sent to customer for approval.
- Ensures accuracy of work by checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and of various parts to the entire project.
- Understands bus bar and enclosure design per UL standards.
- Knowledge of UL 1558, UL 891, UL 508, etc.
- Notifies the appropriate personnel when other activities are ready to be performed during the design process (material updates, design checks, obtaining load calculation certifications, etc.).
