Certified Sprayer Painters/Blasters

Avail Staffing is seeking SSPC Certified Spray Painter/Blaster Technicians (C7 C12 C14) to join our dynamic team for long-term work. As a SSPC Certified Sprayer/Blaster Technician, your role will include:

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Proficient in mixing and applying epoxy and enamel paints according to specifications
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications to ensure proper completion of tasks
• Capable of completing assigned tasks within specified timeframes without on-site supervision
• Understanding of paint induction times and familiarity with spray painting or gas-free pumping procedures
• Knowledge of the differences between critical and non-critical coating systems
• Familiarity with marine-grade paints, including the interpretation of safety data sheets (SDS) and NAVSEA 718 product data sheets
• Must hold SSPC certification in preservation (C7, C12, or C14)
• Comprehensive understanding of surface preparation standards, including SSPC-SP-1, SP-2, SP-3, SP-5, SP-6, SP-10, SP-11, and SP-12
• Skilled in operating power tools commonly used for surface preparation and paint removal
• Knowledge of NAVSEA 009-32 standard item requirements
• Familiarity with power tool cleaning techniques
• Capable of performing work in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols
• Minimum of two (2) years of shipboard experience in a similar role with Journeyman-Level Proficiency

Required Certifications/Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 Maritime Training
• C-7 Blaster/C-12 Airless Spray/C-14 Plural Component Certifications
