Operations Supervisor
Territory: Hays, KS, US
Compensation: $70k - $80k 15% Performance Bonus
Operations Supervisor Reports To: Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
Work Environment and Culture:
- Establish and uphold a work environment rooted in trust and respect, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Empower and engage operators to ensure that employees are motivated, productive, and committed to operational goals.
Equipment Management and Maintenance:
- Ensure the safe operation and preventive maintenance of heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with Intelligent GPS machine grade controls and automatic systems for effective machinery operation and precision.
- Regularly inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety hazards, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and machinery to avoid operational disruptions.
Operations and Business Results:
- Drive business results by making data-driven decisions at every level of operations.
- Establish a vision for the department, define objectives, and align the team to meet operational goals.
- Recommend changes to methods or procedures to upper management and ensure that approved changes are effectively implemented.
Scheduling and Delivery Management:
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery schedules.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in deliveries.
- Report any defects, accidents, or violations that occur during operations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare production reports, transfer of material reports, and malfunctioning equipment reports.
- Complete all required MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and labor hour reports.
Safety and Compliance:
- Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents, job-related injuries, and discrepancies.
- Take corrective actions to improve safety and prevent future incidents.
Backup Operations:
- Serve as a backup driver or equipment operator as needed, ensuring operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of waste management industry experience required
- 2 years of supervisory experience – specifically managing drivers and driver routes
- CDL required for driving and operating vehicles
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance for heavy equipment
