We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.

Job Summary

The Director of Nursing will oversee the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to our residents. This role involves managing staff, developing and implementing policies, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in retirement senior's home and a proven track record of leadership in nursing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality care.
  • Recruit, train, and manage nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including Department of Health guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain quality assurance and improve resident care.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize department performance.
  • Act as a liaison between residents, families, and staff, addressing concerns and feedback promptly.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest nursing best practices and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Active RN license in the state of New York.
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in retirement living or senior care is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal nursing regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
