Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality care.
- Recruit, train, and manage nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including Department of Health guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain quality assurance and improve resident care.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize department performance.
- Act as a liaison between residents, families, and staff, addressing concerns and feedback promptly.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest nursing best practices and regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Active RN license in the state of New York.
- A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience in retirement living or senior care is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of state and federal nursing regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
