The Regional HR Director is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and improving outcomes associated with the employee relationship in non-union and union work environments within a designated region. The Regional HR Director collaborates and coordinates with other Regional Managers within the Employee Relations service team to ensure consistency in policy and practice across the organization.

- Maintains working knowledge of facility operations and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA, Resident Rights, Clinical standards, Infection Prevention and Control, and Safety.
- Ensures facilities comply with federal and state laws and regulations, human resources policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Implements and evaluates HR standards, policies, and operational procedures.
- Identifies HR training needs, assists in the development and presentation of in-service training, and ensures facility staff receive appropriate HR training.
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with colleagues in the Employee Relations service team and at the facilities.
- Analyzes difficult situations, provides guidance, and recommends appropriate action to facilities.
- Prepares and presents reports to executive leadership.
- Implements and evaluates standards, policies, and programs in all areas of employee relations, primarily with retention.
- Appropriately and timely responds to employee concerns and complaints regarding working conditions and disciplinary actions.
- Implements and evaluates employee relations’ activities, surveys, and engagement/retention efforts.
- Maintains labor-management relations through effective communication and a relationship of trust with Unions.
- Occasional travel within the region is required.
- Ensures facilities understand and are compliant with collective bargaining agreements.
- Provides facility staff with training and support for Union relations.
- Ensures appropriate and timely response to union grievances.
- Supports and advises Avalon negotiation team during collective bargaining.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or similar field.
- 3 years of experience in HR management role and experience with labor relations in a union environment.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification (or equivalent education or experience)
- Experience working in the Skilled Nursing or Healthcare industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and own projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and communicate data.

- Proficient computer skills in HRIS and Microsoft platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to train and support facility personnel in dispersed geographic region.
