Full job description
Avalon Medical Center is seeking a full time / part time / contract board certified / eligible family medicine physician to join our growing multi-specialty practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing general primary care services to patients.
- Diagnosing, treating and managing both acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribing and refilling medications as appropriate.
- Actively communicating with patients, families, other specialists and facility personnel (specialists, social workers, etc).
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as imaging and lab work.
- Documenting patients’ histories and treatments in EMR.
- Degree of M.D. or D.O. - Family medicine or internal medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Current / active New York State Medical Practitioner License
- Professional clinical experience in primary care practice in either family medicine or internal medicine required.
- Valid NYS Medical License
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Current and ongoing BLS certification required and ACLS preferred
- NY State DEA Certification, valid and unrestricted required.
- Current NY State Opioid Prescriber Certificate required.
- Current Infectious disease certificate required.
- Experience in patient care within a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with empathy and professionalism.
