What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook - Part Time position at AVALON MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION?
As a Cook in our hospital kitchen, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of nutritious and delicious meals for our patients, staff and visitors. This position reports to the Dietary Manager and works closely with the dietary team to ensure high-quality food service to our hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner and meet dietary restrictions and requirements.
- Responsible for following standardized recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, following sanitation guidelines and food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist dietary manager in ordering food and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to develop menus and meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of patients.
- Assist with special events and catering services as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, medical staff, and other fellow workers.
- Bilingual is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- SERV Safe Certification or willingness to obtain one upon hiring (required).
- Some food preparation experience preferred.
