Medical Biller

Overview
We are seeking an Experienced detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding standards, including ICD-10. This role is essential for ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for medical services provided, while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government payers.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive medical information.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
• Utilize medical billing systems effectively to manage accounts receivable.

Experience

• Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Meditech/Medisys
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
