What are the responsibilities and job description for the Out-Bound Quality Inspector position at Avalon Services Group?
Objective: Perform spot checks based on targeted factories, customers, or product types at Outbound shipping in US Warehouses, ensuring compliance with customer standards before products leave the facility.
What will you do in this role?
- Download & track IT reports of all daily outgoing shipments and ensure audits are planned efficiently to avoid delays at distribution centers.
- Perform spot checks per set guidelines when goods are prepared for shipping and conduct expanded inspections as necessary.
- Access the PLM to download PO and Spec packages to have the latest documents on hand to perform random audits.
- Communicate via email or phone with respective brand purchasing agents if discrepancies arise between the product and PO/PDM, ensuring correct decision-making regarding the outcome of the audit.
- Communicate with the immediate supervisor and seek guidance on any issues relevant to product quality or final decision-making.
- Complete Shipment Rejection Notification or Warning emails when issues arise.
- Fill out a Special Project form in the absence of a QA Supervisor when an order is flagged, to obtain approval for 100% inspection and correction of the product.
- Follow up on special projects and ensure re-audits are performed and passed prior to releasing the final inspection report.
- Liaise with respective warehouse operations staff regarding the decision on an order.
- Enter audit data into relevant systems to generate reports for management review.
What do you need to Qualify?
- Communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
- Possess knowledge in garment quality inspection, including measuring and packaging auditing.
- Use computers proficiently, including Excel.
- Use of a scanner and consist with reading and writing
- Be a team player and show a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
- Understand product quality for Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s wear.
- Recognize and understand both woven and knitwear items.
- Evaluate fabric and trim quality.
What Physical Activities will you do?
- Stand and walk throughout the workday (100% of the time).
- Perform frequent movements like pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending (70% of the time).
- Regularly lift up to 20 lbs. (70%).
