Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Overnight Security Officer to join our team at Avalon Wellness & Recovery Center, specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and facilities throughout the overnight hours. This position is critical in maintaining a secure environment that promotes healing and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor facility premises and conduct regular security patrols to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access.
Maintain a visible presence and enforce facility rules while fostering a supportive and respectful environment.
Control and monitor access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter.
Respond to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
De-escalate conflicts or potential issues with residents in accordance with facility protocols.
Contact law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary and document incidents accurately.
Conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, and alarm systems to ensure security measures are in place.
Assist staff with resident safety concerns and provide support as needed.
Maintain accurate logs and reports of activities, incidents, and observations.
Follow confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines regarding resident information.
Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional education or certifications in security or law enforcement is a plus.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Knowledge of first aid and CPR Preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a similar role preferred. Experience working in healthcare, rehabilitation, or residential facility is a plus.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong observation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of security protocols and procedures, as well as familiarity with emergency response techniques.
Must be able to work overnight shifts and exhibit flexibility in scheduling as needed.
