Fund Administration Accountant works with other team members to lead the financial reporting and administration operations of our clients. In conjunction with the Client Account Manager (s), the Fund Administration Accountant is responsible for fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation for clients.
Summary of Responsibilities :
Lead the general ledger accounting activities of the funds to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Manage monthly and quarterly funds closing process to ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and timely, including leading the group consolidated financial reporting for the US.
Lead and oversee the yearly budget and quarterly forecast processes. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist senior management and other executives in performing their duties.
Partner across departments in the planning and integration of systems, improving financial management tools related to performance, defining roles and responsibilities and delivering effective improvements to processes as part of the fund investment initiative.
Collaborating with fund operation team on the preparation of fund’s cash distribution and waterfall calculations as part of the distribution process.
Managing fund audits as needed, including the preparation of schedules, liaising with the auditors, and responding to open items.
Summary of Qualifications, Skills, and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Continued academic achievements such as a master’s degree, CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications is a plus.
5-8 / 10 years of financial leadership experience with increasing responsibilities in fund finance and management, accounting and finance, and tax
Prior private equity or venture capital experience leading back-office operations, fund accounting, investor reporting and compliance is required.
Broad exposure to all fundamental financial and accounting disciplines including general accounting, audit, reporting, cost accounting, planning, analysis, budgeting, information systems, taxation, treasury, insurance, credit, regulatory reporting and compliance, and risk management.
Understanding the concepts of budgeting and forecasting for the funds, inclusive of waterfall allocations analysis, and other complex calculations.
Effective working experience across all levels of the business, internally and externally; experience in presenting to investors, regulators, auditors and other critical internal and external constituencies is a strong plus
Demonstrated effectiveness within a small to medium-sized organization with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
Demonstrated understanding, knowledge of, and experience reading and interpreting contracts such as LPAs or closing investment documents.
GP fund level accounting and compliance—understanding of how fund waterfall works, how fund operations work, who stakeholders are and what benefits them.
LP (Limited Partners) reporting, including overseeing writing capital calls, quarterly reports, and investor communication.
