Direct Support Professional (DSP) Duties

♥ Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities meet personal care needs.

♥ Offer daily support and active engagement through recreational, social and community activities

♥ Maintain a friendly, home like environment within the residential home.

♥ Help individuals with tasks like, cooking, cleaning, showering, toileting, hygiene, laundry, etc.

♥ Empower persons served that they can learn to do for themselves.

♥ Monitor behavior of persons towards themselves and others and actively engage in redirecting.

♥ Ensure the residential homes are safe and free from health hazards and that items are properly locked up or stored accordingly.

♥ Document individual’s activities, concerns and progress as required.

♥ Report any instances of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to the appropriate authorities.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Requirements

· DSP certified or the ability to become certified through our paid training

· At least 16 years of age

· Reliable Transportation

· A high school diploma or GED preferred - Not Required

· Ability to lift 50 lbs

· Ability to pass a criminal background check
